Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@Gomez/s@–LEE-n@/GOH-mez (born July 22, 1992)) was an American actress, singer and producer. Gomez started her acting career with the children's show Barney & Friends (2002-2004). As a teenager she became famous for starring as Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). Gomez has also been featured in a variety of films such as Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also starred in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). She also voice actor on Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez through July Moon Productions, executive produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (1919). Gomez is also the executive producer and is a star in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu mystery comedy series Only Murders in the Building (21-21). Gomez received critical praise for the show as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez was previously part of Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. All of them reached the top ten spots of the US Billboard 200. The albums were all certified gold and received the Recording Industry Association of America's (RIAA). Stars Dance, her debut solo album, was a massive hit in the U.S. Billboard 200 topped her debut solo album, Stars Dance (2013). The album's lead single, "Come & Get It" reached the top ten spot on the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez released Revival (2015) the second studio album. It debuted at the top of the American charts and was certified platinum. Three top ten US songs were crafted from Revival: "Good for You" and the "Same Old Love" single and "Hands to Myself". Her third studio album, Rare (2020), was her third consecutive top one in the US, and its lead single, "Lose You to Love Me" was her first number-one song in the US and Canada. In 2021 she released the EP in Spanish Revelacion that she was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. The singer has been recognized with numerous awards and was named Billboard's Woman of the Year in 2017 and also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most influential people on the planet in 2020. Her social media followers are large and she is the most popular actor and musician on Instagram.
