Allison Chinchar works as a forecaster of weather for CNN as well as HLN. She is frequently featured on the CNN's New Day Weekend" and HLN's "Weekend Express', as well as CNN International programs. Before becoming a part of CNN, in June of the year 2015, she had worked at numerous local radio stations such as those in Atlanta and Nashville. She has covered everything from blizzards to hurricanes, flooding events, and wildfires. She received an Emmy nomination for her reporting of Hurricane Dorian that hit the Bahamas in 2019. Her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, during which more than 350 tornadoes were reported in the Southeastern United States over a period of four days with 200 tornadoes happening on April 27, was nominated as well in the Emmy Awards. Her background being an ecoscientist allowed her to cover stories about climate change as well as natural disasters such volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and more. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelor's program of Atmospheric Science, which she earned from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
