The same year she released her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. She made a name for her locally during high school, yet she dreamed of having a larger stage. Following her graduation in 1964 she relocated to Nashville. Her first charting recordings for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. In the year 1967, Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for his syndicated television show. Parton was appointed in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. But she resigned from the show in 1974 as her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene were out-charting their collaborations. Parton recorded I Will Always love You to Wagoner after their breakup. It reached number one. In 1974, Parton's song I Will Always Love You reached No.
